Early in December Huawei promoted a Workshop for the Project Management team from the Asia-Pacific Region (to which our office here in Australia belong to). The Workshop was held in Malaysia, in the Awana Golf Resor, about 100km from the capital Kuala Lumpur, in a mountain region called Genting Highlands (not bad at all!!!).
O início da viagem não foi dos melhores possíveis!! Eu e um colega chegamos ao aeroporto 2 horas antes do vôo e acabamos embarcando com meia-hora de atraso e depois de mais de uma hora dentro do avião, tivemos que sair novamente por causa de um defeito no sistema hidráulico da aeronave. Conclusão: o vôo que estava programado para sair as 15:40h acabou decolando as 21:30h!!!!!
The trip didn’t start in the best way!! A workmate and I arrived at the airport 2 hours before the flight and the boarding procedure started with half-an-hour delay and after one hour sitting inside the plane, we had to leave it again because of a fault in the hydraulic system. Conclusion: the flight that was planned to leave at 15:40h took off only at 21:30h!!!!!
Depois de 8 horas de vôo, 1 hora de alfândega e 1 hora de taxi finalmente chegamos ao nosso hotel (as 05:00h, horário local). Não preciso nem falar o quanto foi difícil ficar acordado depois do almoço no primeiro dia!!!!!
After 8 hours flight time, 1 hour for Custom’s procedure and 1 hour taxi drive we have finally arrived in our hotel (at 05:00h, local time). I don’t need to say how hard it was to stay awake after the lunch in the first day!!!
Esse workshop foi realizado para aprimorar habilidades em gerenciamento de projetos, trocar experiências e promover o networking entre os gerentes de projetos da região Ásia-Pacífico, que inclui os escritórios da Malásia, Indonésia, Tailândia, Bangladesh, Austrália, Nova Zelândia e Paquistão. This workshop was held to improve Project Management skills, share experiences and promote the networking among the Project Managers from the Asia-Pacific region, which includes the offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Bangladesh, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan.
O evento durou quatro dias e foi extremamente bem organizado. E alem de tudo o que o resort oferecia, estávamos próximos a um dos principais centros de entretenimento da região, com parques temáticos, cassinos e vários tipos de restaurantes!!! E é claro que sobrou um tempinho pra aproveitar tudo isso!!!The event lasted four days and was extremely well organized. And apart of everything that the resort had to offer, we were very near to one of the main entertainment centres of the region, with theme parks, casinos and many types of restaurants!!! And of course that we could spare some time to enjoy all of this!!!
E entre das muitas coisas que tive a oportunidade de aprender durante as sessões do workshop, aprendi a dar minhas primeiras tacadas em golfe!!! Shoooow de bola!!!!!Apart of the many things that I had the opportunity to learn during the workshop sessions, I also learned how to swing and drive my first golf bolls!!!! Awesome!!!
Um das coisas mais show que tive a oportunidade de fazer no parque temático foi o Indoor Skydive!!! Apesar de não proporcionar a mesma adrenalina de realmente saltar de um avião, a sensação da queda livre é muito próxima da experiência real!!

Although it did not gives you the same adrenaline from really jump from a plane, the free-fall felling is very close to the real experience!!!
Eu ainda tive a oportunidade de aproveitar um dia inteiro para andar aos redores de Kuala Lumpur no dia de volta para a Austrália. Alem das Torres Petrona, não achei a cidade nada fascinante. Quase que uma São Paulo, mas com ainda mais Chineses e cheia de Indianos!!!
I also had the chance to spend a whole day walking around Kuala Lumpur, just before catch my plane back to Australia. Apart of the Petronas Towers, there was anything I found really fascinating in this city. It was almost link Sao Paulo, but with even more Chinese and lots of Indians!!
