Quatro meses de Austrália!! / Four Month in Australia!!

Its being already four month since we first step here in Australia!!! Since then, we have been working a lot and doing everything we can to enjoy our free time. But the weather hasn’t helped really much in the last couple of month!! The cold was unbearable and it did not cheered us to out at all.

One of the most important things that happened in the last couple of month was that Andrea got a job at Citibank, right in the centre of the city!!! The laziness was over for here on the 10th of July!!!

And now that Andrea is working, our finances also started getting better and we decided to move to a place just for we both!! Now we are living in a apartment with two dorms in a neighborhood called North Ryde. It’s not so close to the city, but it is still very convenient to both of us.
Another step that we gave here was to buy or own car. Although we don’t need the car to go to work, it was very hard to enjoy the weekends going around by public transport. And car is one of the few things (to not say the only one) that is cheaper here then in Brazil!! We could buy a newer and better car for the same price that we sold ours in Brazil.

One of the first places that we went to enjoy the weekend was Bondai Beach., one of the most popular around Sydney. But even with the blue sky, the cold wind didn’t let us do much over there but walk through the beach.

We also received our first visit here!!! Lucas came from Brazil in the end of July and spent four days here with us while he visited the city!! After that, we drove him to Canberra, Australia’s´ Federal Capital, where he stayed whit his Godparents Angela and Airton and with their daughters Aline and Amanda. We spent the weekend in their house and they took us to the War Memorial, to see the Parliament, to climb the TV tower and around the city.

As part of our cultural adaptation here, we went to watch a Rugby (AFL) match!! Andrea had got two tickets from her work (and as we say in Brazil: “for free, even injection in the forehead”), we couldn’t miss the chance to experience one of the most popular sports here (and this is a specific one, that exists only in Australia). And now, after having watched a live game in the stadium I can affirm that….I will never like this game!!!!
