Primeira Parada: Alemanha / First Stop: Germany

Now we have already been through the toughest time in our journey: the good bye. It was not easy, but we were strong with our hearts.

We arriver in Düsseldorf at 12:30pm (after 12:30 hours flight time and 3 more hours waiting in London) and, the trip barely started, also started our problems: one of our luggage didn’t arrive. Luckily, it wasn’t important and in the same day the air company found it and delivered it in Andrea’s uncle house.

We stayed at Andrea’s cousin’s house. With her and her Aunt, we did a tour through the whole city, visiting some old mining industry, working today as museums and parks (the region is important for its mining activities) and we also spent the afternoons with Andrea’s Grandmother – “Oma Leni”

From Düsseldorf, we went on the 13th of February to Cottbus (where Andrea’s parents live). They took us to visit the city of Dresden, where we also visited the “Zwinger” (panoramic picture), the “Frauenkirche” (the Woman Church – one of the most important evangelic churches in Germany) and also the “Grünes Gewölbe” (the Green Vault – a museum with a very important art collection from Germany).

In Cottbus, we visited also “Oma Anita” and many other friends, including the little Aidan. By the way, from all the pic’s we have so far, half are of him!!!

Well...the time was short, but we enjoyed every moment, but the feeling is that we were still at home. I think that, from now on, our adventure will really start!!!
